Estimation of Industrial Production Costs, Using Regression Analysis, Neural Networks or Hybrid Neural - Regression Method?

Estimation (Forecasting) of industrial production costs is one of the most important factor affecting decisions in the highly competitive markets. Thus, accuracy of the estimation is highly desirable. Hibrid Regression Neural Network is an approach proposed in this paper to obtain better fitness in comparison with Regression Analysis and the Neural Network methods. Comparing the estimated resul...

Optimization of Energy Consumption in Milk Production Units through Integration of Data Envelopment Analysis Approach and Sensitivity Analysis

The aims of this study were to evaluate the energy consumption and its modeling in industrial milk production units using data envelopment analysis (DEA) approach and sensitivity analysis. Data were collected from 44 industrial milk production units in Guilan province of Iran with face to face questionnaire method during 2012-2013. Inputs included animal feed, fossil fuels, electricity, machine...

Surface energy analysis (SEA) and rheology of powder milk dairy products.

Results of inverse gas chromatography adsorption/desorption experiments using selected probes on skimmed milk, whey and demineralised whey powder materials are presented. The dispersive component of surface energy was found to be dominant, indicating a low polarity character. Surface energy profiles of demineralised whey and skimmed milk showed a characteristic steep exponential decrease from a...

Multi-Objective Scheduling Problem in a Three-Stage Production System

A three stage production system is considered in this paper. There are two stages to fabricate and ready the parts and an assembly stage to assembly the parts and complete the products in this system. Suppose that a number of products of different kinds are ordered. Each product is assembled with a set of several parts. At first the parts are produced in the first stage with parallel machines a...

Technology, Trade Costs, and the Pattern of Trade with Multi-Stage Production

Comparative advantage and trade costs shape the geography of cross-border supply chains and trade flows. To quantify these forces, we build a model of trade with sequential, multi-stage production that features technology differences both across and within individual production stages. We estimate technology and trade costs in the model via simulated method of moments, matching bilateral shipme...
